Red-faced Spider Monkeys at ZSL London Zoo

Spider monkeys don't actually look like spiders. It's just that their tail is so long and strong that it acts almost like another arm or leg and when they move from branch to branch, to some, they look like they move like a spider.

I can't tell if these red-faced spider monkeys are tired, bored, or very depressed about being locked up and confined into a small space.

SpiderMonkey Part one

Disproportionately long, spindly limbs inspired the spider monkey's common name. They have prehensile(griping) tails that enable them to move gracefully from branch and tree to tree. These nimble monkeys spend most of their time aloft, and maintain a powerful grip on branches even though they have no thumbs. They live in tropical rain forests.

A spider minkey's diet consists of about 90% fruits and nuts. They also eat aerial roots, barks and decaying wood, as well as honey. Foraging...
