This is a video of our boat ride to Bon Island, we hired this Long Tail Boat for 600 Baht from Rawai Beach Phuket. Rawai is the most direct approach to Bon Island and probably the cheapist way. You can get to Bon Island from just about any beach in Phuket.

my john boat with a mud-skipper 5-7 hp kit and a modified predator 212 harbor motor. was trying to increase speed by cupping prop witch worked but turned the boat when the propeller broke the surface long story short don't cup mud motor props buy one that is the right size for your hp

Many long-tail boats available for hire line its shores, where you can arrange a trip to Coral Island, Koh Lone or Racha Island, or a fishing or snorkelling trip. The beach is also used as a mooring point for the many fishermen who live in the area.
