The Long tailed Finch has a wide distribution across the North of Australia. These little beauties feed off various grass seeds and need to drink at regular intervals during the day. They often come to small dams and pools in the company of other finches. They nest at different times of year according to conditions. I filmed these in the Queensland Gulf country. Tim Siggs. ABVC.
