Long tail cast on (thumb cast on)
Long tail cast on is one of the many methods to build your stitches on a needle to begin a knitted project. The length of the tail defines the number of stitches which can be cast on - the more stitches you need, the longer the tail will need to be. This method also creates two rows of stitches instead of one as in knit cast on.
