This is the 2nd time I saw Long Tailed Macaque at Singapore Botanic Garden (SBG). Perhaps the weather is too hot today...

A day in the life of a rescued monkey named Maka
A day in the life of a monkey. A real monkey.
HISTORY: Maka is a juvenile long-tailed macaque (aka Java macaque aka crab-eating macaque aka Macaca Fascicularis). Her mother and half of her troop were captured by a group of jungle people for food. Maka was saved by someone who then sent her to a Cats & Dogs shelter. The shelter didn't have extra staff nor the money to continue taking care of her. She stayed in the shelter for a couple of weeks before I adopted her and brought her home.

Macaques playing at Ao Nang, Thailand
These long tailed macaques at Ao Nang beach, near Krabi, in southern Thailand keep visitors amused. Many of the monkeys are quite happy to swim and some even swim underwater. They also use a tree branch to avoid the water.
