Extra Long, Long Tail Cast-On Knitting Tip
I needed to be sure I wouldn't run out of yarn when casting on 404 stitches for my next project.
This might not be ideal for every project. A fine lace baby blanket, for example, might not suit having that little extra bulk of yarn sewn into the corner, but for something with a seam, like a garment or a cushion cover, I think it would be fine.

In this DROPS video we show how to cast on with 3 colours.
This is a similar cast on technique as you use on a long tail cast on, but here we are casting on with 3 strands in different colors. First make a slipknot to hold all three strands together (the slipknot is untied when finished cast on).
