Straw-tailed Whydah singing - audio from my pet bird
Song of my pet bird. He's the one with the orange beak and orange legs. Originally from Africa, Straw-tailed Whydah's (finches) are beautiful birds & singers when in breeding form. After that time, they look like a regular sparrow & lose their long straw tail.
He gets along fine with his Owl Finch companions.

Owl Finches & Straw-tailed Whydah
Beautiful, timid and sweet, Owl (Bicheno) Finches have a nice pattern in their plumage. I just love their cheerful personalities (Origin: Australia). My pair of Straw-tailed Whydah's are less charismatic but they make up for any deficiencies with their equally striking plumage. The male is in breeding condition & shows off his long tail quite elegantly while singing sweet songs. The female is displaying her colorful beak which also indicates she is in breeding form.
