Mud Buddy Canoe- Static Testing
Our transom mount for our mud motor is a custom build we did ourselves. We used CAD software for the design process to make sure everything would fit up correctly. We also did some hand calcs and ran FEA on the various components to ensure that it would handle the loads longtails produce. In the interest of making the SODAC (Stealth Operations Duck Assault Craft) the most effective duck hunting boat, we put a Mud Buddy long tail on our canoe. Since the canoe doesn't have a transom, we had to build one. We created a series of tests to validate the strength of the mount and the stability of the canoe at various speeds, before we take it out and use it for real.
